Munich! Munich! Munich! The city wen I don talk say go make things stew for my side. Moving to Munich from Freising just dey like wen person move from east (eastern Nigeria) to Lagos, because him/she believe say e go make am for Lagos. Freising na stew town, but no be for pesin wen wan hustle. For una wen no know, for Naija, plenty people relocate from d eastern part of Naija to Lagos to hustle. Lagos na d hustle city of Naija, big businesses full ground.
Even though Amazon job bench me, I don use that set back run my own self employment levels (Stop Gap). Stop Gap na d name wen my Naija neighbours and me arrange for my hustle. Stop gap really help my condition after Amzon bench me. Sometimes, I no dey even fit meet up to clients demand. I even reason to legit the biz, but based on my student status, dat levels no go fit pure.
But, like every business, some days clients go show, some weeks client go scarce. So based on the up and down of the Stop Gap hustle, I reason find normal job to join my side hustle. This time around, levels don change, I no dey find Karo or bicycle hustle. Boys packaging for d abroad don get small shoulder part (meaning upgrade).
I don begin bomb CV for part time jobs, no show from that end. E just dey like say I dey waste my time, cos na steady rejection letter I dey chop. Omo, I free online application. I decide enter street go find d job. After all, na just student job I dey find, no be like say na professional job. I reason which part of Munich to enter to go find d hustle. After much thinking, I decide to enter Munich Hauptbahnhof (Munich Central station). Munich Hauptbahnhof na d city centre where levels dey happen steady, plenty tourist dey fall in d area. So, enough business dey d zones, especially hotels. I don map out d streets dem wen I go scan for d job search. Me wen my German never stew, I don rehearse some kind small small German basic things, just incase.
Early Mor Mor (morning) I don wake up, hit the streets for d hunt. As I enter the first hotel, the guy no really fit speak English well well, but e tell me say no show for dere. I move on to d next, for like one hour I just dey ball in different hotels dey find work. One thing wen been dey consistent for all of dem be say, even though dem no get job for me, dem dey position me where to check, some dey even collect my contact, just incase something show. One even offer me coffee or any soft drink to cool off. Me wen never chop breakfast, I position with d tea well, na only agege bread remain to complete d food.
Las las, d hotel wen show me love. As I enter ask for student job, the guy for reception tell me to pin down, make him go tap up the manager, after like 10 mins, him come back say him no see d manager. Ask me to send my CV to d guy address plus cover letter. From my experience with CV so far, na steady benching. I just ask d guy "Is the manager in d building?", the guy say yes, but him no just know which side manager enter. I tell am say make him no worry, I go wait. No be say I kuku get another thing to do for d day. I kack for almost one hour dey use free wifi dey relax. I begin reason to go house or send d cv as d guy for reception tap me. But my spirit tell me to pin down. Finally, after like 2 hours, d manager fall out, d guy for reception tap am up. Manager come block me, carry me enter somewhere make we talk, as usual offer me drink, and as usual I collect d drink. After all d interview, d guy offer me job as front office personnel. I go dey do check inns and all, me wen no even fit speak German. I sharply tap the manager say my German never dun like dat. The guy say make I know worry, say 90 percent of d guest dey speak English, and him believe say i go learn on top d job. D manager sef dey ginger me join sef, dey give me morale say nothing dey happen. He come tell me how much dem go pay per hour and if d coins reach me. Shuuuuuuu!, see me see levels ooooo, dem dey even ask if d coins dey bam for me. Abobby, the coins na 13 euro per hour. Ontop computer soft work. The hotel even get plenty branch for Europe and Manager tap me say I get 50 % discount for any of those hotels. Some oda small small benefit
s still join. Manager say one month training dey before i go start full time and dem go pay me for d training. So, him say make i go house go reason d whole levels before i decide. Me wen don gree since wen i hear 13 euros per hour, I tell manager say no need for thinking something, bring contract make i sign now now.
Na so i take get my first stew job for Munich. I don give dis advise to some other people wen show Germo, and d tin work for dem, Sometimes, for d abroad, na to lock up enter street. Highest thing dem go tell u na "no job", some go even offer u free advise and drink join. Nothing u get to loose.
