Based on our last tori, longer throat don push me to pursue new hustle. I don update my CV and now man don get job interview. Aside German embassy interview, i never prepare for any interview for my life. I begin consult different people on how to prepare for this job interview, my Naija neighbors don tap me up on one or two insights, my oda Ghanian and Naija babe don position me different intel on wetin to use prepare. I don enter youtube, watch plenty videos on interview question. Las las e come get one video wen one Naija babe position me, my people, nor worry, d video finish work. The steady question wen dey come up for all interview na "Tell me about yourself"? The way dis man pieces dis question for him YouTube video na die. E get two pattern wen d man advice on how to answer dis question. Him call the first pattern "TOYOTA" pattern, with TOYOTA pattern, u go just answer d question normally, talk all d basic level. That pattern na just to tick d box say u don answer d question. The second pattern na the "PORSCHE" approach, based on d name u sef go know say dis pattern no be small pikin approach. Oboy, ordinary tell me about yourself na him d man knack power point presentation. The power point over stew scatter, after much watching and practicing, me decide to use the PORSCHE approach, plenty work follow for d approach, but i been wan make sure say i give am my very best, so dat if d pattern no plum, i go know say i try my best. After much much preparation, interview day don land. The night before interview, i don arrange my best of d best shirt for interview. This period na summer and d sun fit cook beans my people. So i respect myself just kack shirt and trouser. Luckily for me d company na 20 mins from my house, as i even enter train, i no even allow pesin body touch me. All na to stay fresh, make person wen never baff come rub me.
As I reach dier office, person come pick me for reception. Oboy see as office dey like Hollywood, everywhere just stew. D office alone sef don dey intimidate me, but as a Niger Delta boy, i follow myself talk; "Ifie give yaself brain, coordinate and believe". Na so so t shirt everybody kack, very very casual something, he come dey like say i over dress. Na so the HR babe show up, carry me go d interview room, dem be two people wen go coordinate d interview. HR and d hiring manager, na d hiring manager go knack me all d hard hard question, based on say na she i go work with directly.
Interview start, dem say na one hour, dem first position me water and coke, based on say d talk go plenty. D HR and hiring manager start, dem knack dier presentation on top TV, dem talk about the company and department. After only 15 mins of dier talking, dem say my turn don reach. SHUUUUUUUUU!!!! na only me go talk 45 mins, i stand up to present, dem say make i feel free to sidon, but i tell dem say i prefer to stand. I tell dem say i get power point presentation, i see say dem trip for d levels, i use my phone connect to TV. No be say shoot bed mama fly, I finish work on top my presentation. My mind rest based on everything wen I talk, even if d matters no pure, e no go be because I no give my best.
After every every, dem say dem go tap me up for final interview with the oga at the top of d department. I fall out from d office with full confidence knowing say Niger Delta boy don show working. As I still dey reason as d interview flow for my head na him my phone vibrate, I see say na landline call. Based on say I don apply for working student job for d whole Germany, I know say na one of d company go dey control me. As I pick call, Oboy, na d HR from d company wen I just tidy interview finish. Choiiiiiiiii, now now dis people just wan fall my hand, my morale don drop cos sharp sharp call no dey bring stew news. But, to my suprise, dem call to schedule final interview phone call d d oga at the top. Based on all d YouTube video wen I don watch about interview matter, once u don cross hiring manager stage, call with oga at the top na just formality. I swear the way I just dey happy dat day, u go think say dem don knack me contract. I first go stew myself up for the Naija restaurant wen dey Munich. I begin celebrate ahead of time. Imagine make u dey happy for levels wen na same coins with ur current job. But, the fact say d job go add HALLELUYAH to my CV give me believe say d future money dey on d way.
My people, if anybody tell u say e easy, just know say dem wan set u up. But, one guarantee na say if u continue to dey give u best, las las something go pure. I know sabi as e be for ur side right now. But, if u give up, shey matters go better or worse? No just give up, no be crime to fail, but na major crime to lock up, las las hustle get pay day.
